TOURISM CASE STUDY 1: DOMINICA
In the summer of 2019, the Discover Dominica Authority launched an “Staycation initiative” to encourage locals to explore more of the island and patronize boutique hotels that are generally geared towards tourists.
I took the initiative to go on several staycation adventures throughout the summer, in order to increase local awareness towards this project.
The Work I did:
I created 3 key articles specifically geared towards my audience (Caribbean based, diaspora and international), namely:
- Summer Staycation in Dominica under $150: How I did It
- 15 Things to do in Dominica All year Long
- Best Restaurants where to eat in Dominica
- An Instagram Series called “Things to do in Dominica All Year Long”.
The Results I Produced:
- Summer Staycation in Dominica under $150: How I did It: 9000+ people reached + 23 bookings secured.
- 15 Things to do in Dominica All year Long: 130+ shares on Pinterest
- Best Restaurants where to eat in Dominica: 27+ shares on Pinterest
- Page 1 on Google “things to do in dominica in summer”
These are the results of a well-researched and engineered SEO campaign, and a powerful connection with a trustworthy audience.
TOURISM CASE STUDY 2: TORONTO
Two years ago in December, I took a short, unplanned business trip to Toronto, a city that is often visited only during the summer, by tourists within the Caribbean and over the world. To me, there is always a way to make every experience memorable, even in less than ideal conditions. I took my audience with me on this trip (both on Facebook and Instagram). and wrote a blog post about it. The article: 8 Weeks to do in Toronto in December was shared more than 200 times on Pinterest, without any advertisement.
