Tropical Blendz Cafe, which is one of Dominica’s top tropical island cafes is one of my favourite spots for healthy Caribbean breakfast whenever I am in Dominica.  A locals’ favorite because of its refreshing and invigorating natural juice smoothies, Tropical Blendz Cafe (Dominica) offers a lot more than that! Its healthy fruit-based drinks can refresh your body and quench your thirst before an adventure, it’s light and diverse breakfast menu can fuel up your cells before lunch time, and its filling brunch options (made with fresh island food) are the just what you need if you’re halfway through the morning and need to stop and grab a bite. Whether you are looking for a superpower island breakfast or simply vegan food, this tropical island cafe is the perfect place to go!

Tropical Island Cafe Experience: Morning Delights at Tropical Blendz Cafe, Dominica

I have been to Tropical Blendz Cafe several times, and have made it almost a tradition to try out different menu items from this tropical island cafe, to see what “else” I would fall in love with. On mornings when my to-do list feels packed and almost unending, a stop at this Caribbean restaurant feels like the speed bump that I need to take back control of a rush day, or simply energize every single必利勁 cell of my body with succulent dominican food before I go out there to win. Because this tropical island cafe offers a small outdoor terrace for seating (limited seating that is), there is no time lost between ordering my brunch items and getting work done: I pull out my MacBook, settle at one of the cafe’s corners, connect to the high speed WiFi and get to work. Feeling the breeze of the Roseau city and moving at the rhythm of the by-passers in the background, I start to get things ticked out of my to-do list, one after the other.

The waitress comes with my peanut butter smoothie: a great appetizer, if you ask  me. A sweet blend, aromatized with locally harvested cinnamon sticks: the first sip truly feels like home: there is nothing like a good morning breakfast at a tropical island cafe!

I dive back into my work, whatever it is at the time: writing content, answering emails from potential clients who want to learn how to work online, editing my latest travel video to be posted on my Youtube channel, or responding to queries from my amazing team members who also work remotely. As my body and mind feel more and more attuned to the surroundings of Tropical Blendz Cafe, I feel stressed, and more at peace. Ideas are freely flowing, I am more at ease. Time stands still, but I keep going, happily. Moments like these remind me of what a beautiful thing it is to live in Dominica, be able to go to tropical island cafes like these so easily, and be able to work remotely

And of course, experience authentic, fresh and healthy island food at one of my favourite Caribbe an island restaurants in Dominica.

Tropical Island Cafe: The best places to have Authentic and Fresh Island Food (with vegan food options)

On that day particularly, my team and I were celebrating a great win. After a client’s meeting, I treated them to brunch at Tropical Blendz Cafe: sugar mama if you ask me, but it’s okay: I love celebrating the ones who are helping me achieve my destiny, while developing their own identity. Because we have different tastes, it only made sense for us to try different menu items at this Caribbean restaurant-cafe. Afterall, no matter the shape or form, healthy island food is a real delight.

A menu item for every lifestyle choice at this Tropical Island Cafe!

I was thrilled to see that Tropical Blendz Cafe has a wide range of menu items, including vegetarian and vegan food options! Although they are generally health conscious, I loved that there was an intentional effort to cater to vegans and vegetarians. Though I am neither nor, I like to occasionally try these island food choices at caribbean restaurants (when available), especially at times when I want to reduce my meat consumption. With that in mind, I jumped on the vegetarian wraps and the extra-rich garden salad: it was so savory that I enjoyed every bite!

My team members opted for a garnished omelet with garden salad + bread toast, scrambled eggs with bacon. We shared a generous whole wheat waffle, glazed with in-house fruit-based waffle syrup. I absolutely wanted them to try the waffle syrup. Come to think of it, the reason why I first fell in love with this dominican food breakfast spot was because my sister had ordered from this tropical island cafe them years ago and vividly told me: “they make their own pancake syrup from fruits! Guava, gooseberry, and so many other flavors”. I loved that authentic touch that they bring to island food and brunching in general. I felt relieved to know that I could indulge my sweet tooth in a healthier way! The second time I went there, someone dear told me that I needed to try their original fruit-based cocktails! The rest is history.

At this visit, because we were celebrating a victory, I felt like ordering something different: and so said, so done: behold, the original “Pina Colada”. It doesn’t get fresher than that, at a tropical island cafe like Tropical Blendz Dominica.

For me, every experience at Tropical Blendz Cafe is different. It has now become a place where I experience island food from a different angle, create memories, close deals, and rejuvenate myself every time I feel the need to. And I want you to experience it too, next time you are in Roseau, Dominica.

Thank God for my sister: she introduced me to Tropical Blendz Cafe for the first time. Now, it’s one of my go-to tropical island cafes in Dominica, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
