Spread the love

Welcome to Downtown Napa, the downtown of wine country in California! I had the privilege of visiting downtown Napa for the first time this fall, with the Napa tourism board and Matador Network. I had always known that Napa valley was known for its world class wine, but to actually be able to taste and experience this, felt like a dream (that I didn’t know I had) come true! In this guide, I will give you my best recommendations of the best things to do downtown Napa. Whether you are traveling there solo, on a girls trip, with family, with loved ones or for a special occasion, this guide will help you pinpoint the best things to do downtown Napa and make planning your trip a breeze! But first…

What is Napa known for?

Just in case you didn’t know yet… Napa is located just north of San Francisco and is celebrated for its sprawling vineyards, Michelin-starred restaurants, and a vibrant cultural scene. With a climate that fosters the perfect conditions for grape cultivation, Napa has become a mecca for wine enthusiasts seeking to savor the finest vintages and experience the artistry of winemaking.

Downtown Napa: How to Get There

I traveled to downtown Napa from Toronto, and arrived by flying into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Another option (depending on where you are coming from) is flying into the Oakland International Airport (OAK). From there, drive to downtown Napa (1h30mns – 2hrs from SFO, and 1h-1h15 mns from OAK). The drive is pretty scenic whether you rent a car or get an Uber, and you get to have a little taste of the California vibe on your way to downtown Napa!
