One of the most expensive elements of a trip to South Florida is the accommodation, and coastal cities like Miami and Fort Lauderdale are known for high hotel prices. As a result, choosing to stay at an Airbnb when visiting Fort Lauderdale is actually a great idea if you are traveling solo, and even more so if you are visiting Fort Lauderdale as a couple or with your family. 

On a recent trip for a travel conference (The Black Travel Summit), I stayed at the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale, which is an apartment building complex that offers apartments for rent in Fort Lauderdale for both short term and long term stay. In this article, I will give you my opinion through this Airbnb Fort Lauderdale review, and tell you what I thought about my stay at the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale. 

Airbnb Fort Lauderdale Review: Location and Accessibility

One of the key selling points of The Flow Apartments is its fantastic location. Situated in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, guests are just minutes away from the city’s best attractions, including the Las Olas beach in Fort Lauderdale (15 mins driving), the Fort Lauderdale beach (30 mins driving), the Las Olas Boulevard which is the most popular street for shopping, dining and nightlife in Fort Lauderdale. The property is also close to public transportation hubs, making it easy for residents and visitors to explore the city without the hassle of parking. If you are driving to Fort Lauderdale or rent a car during your weekend in Fort Lauderdale, the apartment complex offers ample parking space, a huge benefit in a city where parking can often be scarce.

I am a beach bum, so for me, the proximity to Fort Lauderdale Beach and Las Olas beach was a big plus! And because of this, I did not get any FOMO (fear of missing out) from not staying at any of Fort Lauderdale’s top beach hotels. Another thing that I loved and that I want to include in this Airbnb Fort Lauderdale review is the fact that it was also close to nearby attractions such as the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk, the Museum of Discovery and Science, and the iconic Stranahan House Museum. As soon as you enter The Flow Apartments, it’s evident that modernity and functionality are at the forefront of the design. The apartment complex features spacious one- and two-bedroom units, each thoughtfully laid out to maximize space and natural light. With large windows throughout, every apartment feels airy and open, offering stunning views of the city or the nearby waterways.

The interior design is chic and contemporary, with clean lines, neutral colors, and a minimalist aesthetic. The open-plan living area is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, while the fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to whip up a meal when dining out isn’t on the agenda. Stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and ample cabinet space make cooking a breeze, while the sleek design elevates the overall look and feel of the space.

The bedrooms are designed with comfort in mind, offering ample space for a queen or king-sized bed, as well as built-in closets with plenty of storage. The bathrooms are equally impressive, with high-end finishes, modern fixtures, and spacious showers or bathtubs. Every element of the apartment feels carefully curated, ensuring that residents enjoy a seamless living experience from the moment they walk through the door.

The apartments feature smart thermostats, LED lighting, and water-saving fixtures to help reduce energy consumption. The use of sustainable construction materials also ensures that the complex minimizes its environmental impact during the building process. And when you’re there, you feel a sense of peace, ease, belonging and simplicity. I really liked it there.

For residents who prioritize eco-conscious living, The Flow Apartments offers an array of green initiatives. The building features a rooftop garden, with great views of the city while promoting sustainability through green space. Additionally, there are electric vehicle charging stations for residents with electric cars, further supporting the complex’s commitment to sustainable living.

I generally like to stay active when I travel. Though I did not do so on this trip to Fort Lauderdale, in this Airbnb Fort Lauderdale review I need to point out that the Flow Apartments offers a state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with everything needed for a great workout. The fitness center is open 24/7, so you can fit in a workout whenever it suits your schedule and don’t ever have to leave the property.

In addition to the gym, there’s a beautifully landscaped pool area that serves as an ideal spot to relax after a long day. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, making it the perfect place to soak up the Florida sunshine. The outdoor spaces also include a BBQ area for residents who enjoy grilling, as well as a clubhouse for social gatherings or relaxation. I think this is also worth mentioning because beyond short term stays, the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale offers long-term stay options to people who are actually looking for apartments for rent in Fort Lauderdale. So, these outdoor spaces are great for you when you want to have friends over and entertain guests. 

Pet-Friendly Environment at the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale

For animal lovers, The Flow Apartments is a pet-friendly complex, ensuring that your four-legged friends can be safe and sound when home with you. The apartment’s pet policy is designed to be accommodating without compromising the comfort and safety of other residents. There’s even a designated pet area for walking dogs.

Community Engagement and Events

This is one of the elements that surprised me about the Flow Apartments, and I wanted to include it in this Fort Lauderdale Airbnb review. The Flow Apartments apart focuses on building a sense of community for its long-term residents, because they want them to feel like they truly are home. So, I noticed that they frequently organize social events for residents, including community dinners, holiday parties, and wellness activities. There is also a calendar of events happening around the area where residents can choose to go at their own leisure. I thought this was a really good touch. If I was looking for an apartment to rent in Fort Lauderdale for the long-term, this would be a great plus.

I also liked the co-working space available at the lobby, which, for the remote worker that I am, made it easier to get some work done during my weekend in Fort Lauderdale. I think it was a nice change from trying to work from my apartment room, which to be honest  – I didn’t want to do any work from because it was so beautifully decorated and inviting only for relaxation.  

Fort Lauderdale Airbnb Review: Security and Safety

The safety of residents is a top priority at The Flow Apartments. The complex is equipped with 24-hour security, including a gated entrance, surveillance cameras, and secure access points to the building and amenities. For instance, in addition to using your room key to access the elevator, you also needed it to access your specific floor, which means that unless someone has your room key, they would not be able to get to your floor. In addition, the property is well-lit at night, ensuring that residents feel safe when walking to and from their apartments.

The building also features a concierge service, available to assist with a variety of requests, from booking reservations to arranging transportation. I felt safe throughout my stay at the Flow Apartments, so no complaints here. 

Fort Lauderdale Airbnb Review: Pricing and Value

When it comes to pricing, I think The Flow Apartments offer a great balance of value for money. While rent prices may vary depending on the unit size and specific lease terms, the apartments are competitively priced for the area, especially considering the high-end amenities, modern features, and prime location. You can pick a single suite or double suite apartment, and share the price with the person you are staying with (if you are traveling with someone). I think this is definitely a good option for any group of more than 2. In addition, the apartments are equipped with a fully stocked kitchen where you can make your meals, which allows you to save on money even more. This reminds me of some amazing hotels I stayed at when I visited Barbados: beach front, amazing views, and excellent value for money.  

Moreover, the eco-friendly initiatives at The Flow Apartments help save on utilities, making it a cost-effective option in the long run. The fact that the building also provides so many amenities—such as a fitness center, pool, and rooftop garden—means that residents are getting a high-quality living experience without having to pay for extra membership fees or services elsewhere.

Should you stay at the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale? My Final Verdict

Modern luxury, sustainable living, and an unbeatable location at a competitive price: these are my selling points. And based on this, I would recommend the Flow Apartments in Fort Lauderdale!  I think this is a great deal and great Airbnb to stay at in Fort Lauderdale.
